Overview
BuildRight is a full-stack construction services website designed to bridge the gap between clients and skilled tradespeople across Lebanon. Supporting electricians, plumbers, carpenters, demolition specialists, and more — all in one place. The platform features verified professional profiles, a location-based worker search with map integration, a real-time messaging system, and a robust review mechanism to ensure trust and quality on both sides. co-developed with Mohammad Hraibi.
Process
The 2024 war on Lebanon left widespread destruction, with thousands of families urgently needing reliable workers to repair their homes. BuildRight was conceived as a direct response to this gap. We began by researching existing platforms — Checkatrade, Houzz, and Level 10 Construction — identifying shared weaknesses: no messaging, no worker verification, poor map integration, and no direct hiring flow. From there, we defined three user roles (Client, Professional, Admin) and designed the full system architecture including use cases, an ER diagram, and authentication sequences. The platform was implemented using PHP, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML/CSS, and MAMP, with features including real-time messaging, location-based filtering, a professional verification system, and a review system. It was deployed to buildright.kesug.com. Future plans include a mobile app, AI-powered recommendations, a payment gateway, and a materials marketplace.
